No, unfortunately this isn't about Conor McGregor. I may never write that blog, but only time will tell. This is about someone as just as legendary though, and some may argue even more iconic.
Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic are slated to enter the cage against one another this Saturday, November 16 at 10 p.m. at the world-renowned Madison Square Garden.

Many have speculated online if this will be a retirement fight for Jones, Miocic, or both. In the same conversation, fans have speculated how fights would go with other top heavyweight contenders like Tom Aspinall should neither retire. Considering this fight was already postponed due to Jones tearing his pectoral muscle, it isn't likely that Jones at least will be returning to the cage anytime soon after November 16.
Miocic is already 42 years old, which is usually past the average age that fighters retire. Jones is 37, so while he is at retirement age, he arguably still has some fight left in him.

Alex Pereira, one of UFC's biggest superstars currently, is also 37 years old, and has just begun his historic run a couple of years ago. His track record is proving he won't be done anytime soon, especially as he eyes the heavyweight belt. He has already won the belt in two divisions, middleweight and light heavyweight, so a third belt would make him the first athlete to do so.

Fans are also speculating, given that Pereira admitted he is looking to move up to heavyweight, who his first matchup will be against. The aforementioned fighters are surely possibilites. Jones versus Pereira would certainly bring in the masses and be a legendary battle. However, because Jones is so well-liked and hailed as the best of all time, the idea that Pereira would win against Jones would most likely be a +600 bet.
Regardless of Pereira's future in the heavyweight divsion, fans are sure to turn in to this bout to see what will happen next.
